I enjoyed reading this. Nothing is making me more ‘activist’ than being accused of being a paid protestor. I live in small town Oregon. We expected 50–100 at our women’s march — 1000 showed up — all of us local, we saw neighbors and people from my writers group and grocery workers we saw weekly. It was community action coming together to find support and a voice. The speakers spoke the importance of the resistance — healthcare; voices for those who can’t speak for themselves due to illness, homelessness, poverty; climate and environmental stewardship; transparency in government; women’s access to healthcare of their own choosing; diversity and protection of it. I found ‘my people’ and it gave voice to my concerns and pain. Your group meeting looks like it’s filled with wonderful hearts and kindred spirits! Finding it here too!
