Yep. Been doing this since Spotlight came out and teaching it for more than four years. We also make the launch bar the minimum size so students don’t use it. Glad to see someone write it up for others to learn.
It’s a search bar world. Mac has Spotlight. Windows has whatever they call it. Ubuntu has its thing. The menu and launch bar workflows — not to mention the whole mouse around until you find something—are dead. Even complicated applications like the Adobe suite are better with shortcuts.
That said, the Surface and iPad Pro touch interface is the GUI that will remain.
