Nostalgia…

Your fondest memories of your friends and/or family from growing up; do it bring a smile to your face or make you feel at ease. What about how good the times were way back when, and now life seems dull. Nostalgia can be a great way to relive your past but in the wrong light it can prevent you from moving forward in life and creating new memories.

For me it’s been a double edged sword. I prefer to leave my past alone behind me and when I do remember things fondly it only makes me that much depressed for my future. I’m the kind of person who moves forward always, even when it’s hard. I learn my lessons from mistakes but it’s hard for me to not look back at the fun and happiness I had in the past. At times nostalgia makes me pessimistic for the future of our world and society.

Nostalgia is something everyone should have but one should not be ruled by it. Remember the good times but also strive to make new memories for the future and the cycle will make you feel good about your past all your life.
