Sending optinmonster leads to Mautic

Recently I came across Mautic after trying a set of different tools like Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, ConstantContact, and many others. It's curious how those tools have evolved fast.

This year decided to learn new skills and things that I usually don't give much attention — focus on bringing leads, getting to know them and work to convert leads into sales.

As part of my journey, decided to give optinmonster a try. It allows you to setup different types of forms, lightboxes, and configure A/B tests, etc, in order to capture customers attention and their email. But the tool itself doesn't help you to save the lead — you have to rely on different services — like Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign.

I'm always biased to be using opensource before trying commercial products. And I need to learn before deciding to buy something, that's why opensource tools are handy. In this case, Mautic was a really positive experience so far. There is almost everything you need to capture leads, segment and making your campaigns. It also has a docker image where you can install on your premises really fast.

Coming back to optinmonster, unfortunately, it doesn't integrate out-of-box with Mautic. But it allows you to setup a webhook (their system issue a post to your server, json encoded), and in that sense, decided to write a very simple plugin that allows you to capture the lead and save in your mautic database.

Basically, what you have to do is creating a form, installing the plugin and configuring optinmonster accordingly.

Let me know and have fun with Mautic.
