I hope you have gotten hundreds upon hundreds of these messages: Thank you for doing this. Thank you for reminding everyone that these people are just that: people. We’re all similar in the ways that matter; we care about our families; we want to feel understood; we want to contribute to the world.

I’m Canadian, not American, but we all need this. As somebody with such an enormous audience, it’s wonderful that you have chosen to fill this much needed gap.

I can’t deny that I’ve finished reading some of your more recent stories with tears running down my face. I’m just so happy that I’m not alone in feeling that these strangers matter.
