I am a Woman. You are a Trans Woman. And That Distinction Matters.

Yes. We are different, and I dispute any suggestion that I am a traitor to my tribe for saying so. I do indeed have years spent as a male in the company of women which means I have heard and seen all the ways they are oppressed and attacked and diminished. However much I identify as female within myself I am very aware that that gives me no special understanding or access to women’s lives. I’ve got my hands full becoming a woman on my own terms, I have no interest in telling you how to be. There is a war on women in this world and I will not be a part of it.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, I wish you peace and healing in your journey.
