I absolutely love this! I am a therapist and run a private practice that has primarily African American women clients. A lot of my clients suffer from anxiety disorders but when I send them to psychiatry for medication, which generally is within the large hospital systems and they do their own assessments, they re-diagnose my clients with bipolar disorder because the perceive them as angry and irritable. This has been the “bee in my bonnet”! I will be sharing this story on all my walls and if you don’t mind I may quote some of it on my radio show in a few weeks!
