There was a lot of press about egg freezing when Facebook announced that they would pay for it.

It’s amazing to me how a would-be mother would risk her future kids turning out ok after being subjected to high doses of hormones then being frozen. It’s not a mindset I understand. I had to laugh also at the idea of the procedure as egalitarian. Oh yeah, super egalitarian, as her hairdresser “lovingly” fulfills her rich client’s yen for a pink streak and confesses not being able to afford it. I see a big have/have not gap here the author glossed over. It makes me wonder whether the hairdresser was merely appeasing her client’s nattering away about it, or if she did really want the procedure and her confession went in one ear and out the other. The author seems to have mentioned that charming scene more to showcase her pink streak than to consider the ramifications of the divide between the haves and have nots. Yes, so egalitarian this Type A procedure! Maybe the have nots will have the last laugh with their natural children as opposed to the frost bitten offspring. Time will tell.
