Andy while the strength of the evidence may be less, I think the point is about understanding how it feels to someone who encounters “a bunch of scientists” who say the opposite of what feels true to them. And this is probably why the ‘thousands of scientists’ or 97% or whatever other argument that seems strong to us doesn’t hold sway with a large group of people in this country. The hope could be that with some common ground, we could start talking about how some findings of science that feel counterintuitive to our core beliefs might actually turn out to be true. Or at least understand why its so hard for some people to get onboard..
