Materials needed to build a 6ft tall chain link fence

A 6' tall chain link fence (and most chain link fences) requires terminal posts (also known as end or corner posts), line posts, top rail, and chain link fabric. The fabric is pulled off of terminal posts using tension bars and tension bands to the next terminal post. The top rail serves as both a brace to help keep the line posts upright over time but also as a counter force to the force of pulling the chain link fabric from terminal post to terminal post. Barbed wire can be added along the top. However, that requires longer terminal posts to pull the barbed wire off of above the chain link fabric and requires barbed wire arms on top of the line posts.
