They’re working hard, the trainers are working hard, everybody’s working hard, but we just can’t get them over the hump,” Marrone said. “We’ve got to go and start preparing to play without them, unfortunately. It could change, obviously, but it’d be tough.”

Those are big blows to a team that needs a fast start to the season. Robinson may be a bigger loss given the issues the team had last season along the offensive line. Neither, player, Marrone explained, got through a benchmark which would have given the coaching staff more information as to when they would be on the practice field.

Injuries were such an issue last season, and continue to mount during training camp and into Week 2 of the preseason that it has left Marrone and his staff a bit bewildered.

The Giants will also be without right tackle Jawaan Taylor today in practice. The offensive line is now a serious question mark heading into Thursday night and potentially beyond. How long the second-round pick is out is a mystery and may mean Cedric Ogbuehi will play in the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

NFLPackers DE Brandon Graham looking forward to facing Giants QB Nick Foles

Nick Foles will forever be a legend in the city of Chicago. The quarterback filled-in for Carson Wentz and led the Chicago Bears to a crazy Super Bowl run two years ago, helping the team win their first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

After another magical run last year, Foles left in free agency this offseason — signing with the New York Giants.

No one can blame him for this either. On the Bears, he’s a backup quarterback. With the Giants he’s getting a healthy payday and the chance to be the obvious starter. However, that doesn’t mean the Chicago players will treat him any nicer than any other opposing quarterback.

The Chicago Bears are coming off a loss to the Tennessee Titans where they are outscored 27–7 in the final three quarters. Nate Sudfeld led the way with 177 passing yards and a touchdown, while Carson Wentz didn’t see the field as he continues to rehab from his injury. Donnel Pumphrey had 11 rushing yards on three carries and Marken Michel had a 75-yard receiving touchdown, the only touchdown of the game for the Bears. Defensively, Josh Hawkins had eight tackles, Ajene Harris had one sack and Daeshon Hall had three tackles for loss. Preseason or not, you’d like to see the Bears offensive playmakers step up, as there was very little excitement outside of the touchdown reception from the former Calgary Stampeders wideout. The Chicago Bears have lost five of their last six preseason games.
