Regardless of what business or industry you’re in, at some point, you have to make a sale. Whether you like selling or hate it, you can’t avoid the fact that the only way to make money is to sell something.

Yet the truth is that the majority of people trying to make money online struggle to do so for that very reason. Even if they have an amazing product, they can’t seem to make a sale.

If you’re an entrepreneur or a business owner and you aren’t using YouTube, there’s never been a better time than now.

That’s because YouTube recently invested 20 million dollars in educational content. That’s right. YouTube wants to push content that informs, explains, and problem-solves to the forefront of its platform.

It’s midnight on a weekday summer night, and I’m zooming by people at the Lincoln Memorial on a Lime scooter.

As I whiz in and out of traffic, I say “beep, beep,” sounding like Road Runner as he escapes Wile E. Coyote once again.

There’s more people out here than you would think at this time of night, but I doubt any of them are here for the reason I am.

I’m not sightseeing, not on my way somewhere, not even meeting up with a friend. So what am I doing out here?

How to get your videos to the top

In September of 2016, researchers at Google gave away the keys to the kingdom (at least that’s what I think and what I’m about to explain).

They released a paper that — for the first time ever — revealed how the YouTube algorithm works in its entirety.

Anyone who was able to get their hands on that document spent the next week trying to dissect the highly technical vernacular that their explanation was couched in. The few that were able to decode it were then able to systematically catapult their YouTube channels.

We often refer to life as a journey, a roller coaster, a long road, etc.

But we don’t stop and take the time to think about what this really means or what these metaphors for life all have in common.

A roller coaster starts slowly creeping up the ramp then picks up speed as it plummets back down.
