If you don’t know by now, DeVonta Smith gets his way with nearly every DB he lines up against. Being the first WR to win the Heisman Trophy since Desmond Howard in 1991, Smith has accounted for 105 catches, 1641 yards, and 20 TDs, all of which lead the FBS. And, according to Pro Football Focus, since 2019, QBs have earned a cumulative 153.8 passer rating when targeting Smith (for reference, 158.3 is a perfect passer rating). …

We’ve made it. After a college football season full of surprises, upsets, close calls, and everything in between, we’re down to the final game. The #1 ranked LSU Tigers come off of an extremely dominant CFP Semifinal game, defeating #4 Oklahoma 63–28 in Atlanta. Ed Orgeron’s Tigers have had a miracle season, and wasn’t really expected to be here. Ranking #1 in total offense, the Tigers have torn through every defense they’ve faced — and are the first team in college football history with a 5,000 yard passer (Burrow), a 1,000 yard rusher (Edwards-Helaire), and two 1,000 yard receivers (Chase…

The teams competing in the College Football Playoff National Championship game have been set. After a day chock full of action, the Tigers of both LSU and Clemson have proven themselves as the most elite in the FBS. Although one of the semifinal contests was just a little bit more lopsided than the other, both matchups lived up to hype and were extremely fun football games to watch.

1 LSU vs. 4 Oklahoma Recap

As we’re just a day out from the College Football Playoff, fans across the country are getting pumped up for both the LSU-Oklahoma Peach Bowl and the Ohio St-Clemson Fiesta Bowl. The Tigers of LSU enter the Playoff as the #1 seed, coming off of a dominant 37–10 win over UGA in the SEC Championship. They’ll square off against the only 1-loss team in the College Football Playoff, Big 12 Champion Oklahoma. Both of these teams have been quite dominant this season, and are very similar in terms of style of play. The Tigers and the Sooners rank #1 and…

Following conference championship weekend, ESPN held their annual College Football Award show in Atlanta on Thursday night. The awards honor players/coaches who performed exceptionally in their position group and overall. The Walter Camp and Maxwell Awards are both given to the most outstanding player in a given season. The only difference between the two is that head coaches and other NCAA employees vote for the winner of the Walter Camp Award, whereas sportswriters and sports media personnel vote for the Maxwell Award winner. All other awards are given out to the best player at their respective position, for example: the…

Bowl games in college football are a very exciting series of contests between two teams that very rarely get the opportunity to face one another. Mostly, barring College Football Playoff seeding, the teams are not in the same conference, but are most times very evenly matched in strength of record and team competitiveness. Many bowl games have 2 set conferences that the teams come from: The Sugar Bowl is between the SEC and Big 12, the Rose Bowl is between the Big Ten and the Pac-12, and so on. The more highly anticipated games are known as the “New Year’s…

Despite a heartbreaking upset to an unranked South Carolina team, the UGA Bulldogs have not dropped out of the AP Top 10. Kirby Smart’s Dawgs come in at #10 in the Week 8 AP Poll, above other one-loss teams like Auburn, Oregon, and Utah. For fans of those teams, the placement of UGA might be a little upsetting, however, the ranking births a new hope for Bulldog fans.

Year in and year out, this matchup is consistently one to look forward to, and it’s no different this year. It doesn’t get much better than a Top-10 matchup between undefeated conference foes in Death Valley. ESPN’s College Gameday will be making the trip to Baton Rouge as well, just one week after Lee Corso correctly predicted a Florida Gator win over the Auburn Tigers.

Week 7 might showcase some of the best matchups we’ve seen all season. The Red River Rivalry is no exception. Texas and Oklahoma will meet in Dallas for the 115th edition of the series, battling it out for the top of the Big 12. Such a storied rivalry is bound to bring about some smack talk… and it has done just that.

The 2019 college football season is shaping up to be a great one. Week 1 was quite chaotic, and Week 2’s marquee matchups sure did not disappoint. Not only were the highly anticipated games exciting, but we had some real action across the country. Michigan survived a scare at home against the Black Knights of Army, Maryland blew Syracuse out of the water (and the top 25), and FSU may have had some of the best luck of all time. This is a week we’ll all remember when the season is coming to a close.
