Yes, maybe. The real thing is that neither party can understand the other, that’s why they / we break up. I tried to be a civil as I knew how and let my wife go with as little fusss as possible. It cost me money and many other things.

I worried that I’d hurt her by insisting on the kids staying with me, but in the end I couldn’t leave the kids but she could. I could have been angry but instead Ichose to be hurt. That wasn’t her fault, I could have chosen anger, I could have been mean, but in the end I chose to be hurt because that felt right to me.
