Hi John,

How true. Thirty years ago, a wise and generous friend and mentor taught me about periodically evaluating and lightening one’s backpack — how stuff just accumulates over time. He also taught me that investments in people, experiences and memories are part of that accumulation, and need that same periodic intentional review. Deciding which of those to empty from the backpack is much harder to do but just as important, as we all have a finite amount of “personal capital” to invest.
