Diet and Exercise Made Me Better

Okay so this is an easy one. Diet and Exercise will make you better. We all know it’s true… yet and still there are numerous people not willing to put in the effort to become a better version of themselves. I will be the first to admit that I am guilty, every now and then I get caught into a vicious cycle of always eating out and spending literally no time working out. What makes it worse is that I will get caught in the vicious cycle of eating out — with unhealthy foods. Think McDonalds, Arby’s, Wendy’s, etc… I have eaten countless $4 for 4’s from Wendy’s… I will admit again, I am guilty.
So really what about diet and exercise made me better? For starters cleaning up my diet was similar to doing a cleanse on my mind. I was able to think clearer and get sh*t done. Here’s a suggestion from my experience, start with this first. The focus that you get from eating cleaner will boost your mental willpower, which will make it easier to incorporate exercise. If you are overweight you may also notice body changes, which may increase your motivation to workout. Personally, I started very small at first, by taking a multi-vitamin everyday. Once I started to feel the benefits I had even more motivation to take it further by eating healthier. What you will begin to notice is now your in a positive cycle that encourages more positive growth. This is what you want, this is how you grow, this is how you become a better version of yourself.
Once I started eating healthier it was just a stepping stone to my exercise goals. I pulled up an old workout plan I used to do when I was younger, and got to work. For me, the old workout plan was a mental thing because in the past it worked so I did not have doubts. If you have a workout that you did in the past it may be tempting to spend precious time trying to look for the perfect plan. Let me tell you something… stop wasting your f*cking time and get to it if you have something that has worked and improve it as you go. You don’t have time to waste, don’t try to make it perfect because you will fail to do so, and possibly leading to de-motivating you. Now if you are someone who is new to exercise and never stuck to a workout plan in the past — do your research. Don’t spend too much time though, for similar reasons. Once you get going and in the rhythm, you will start to notice your body changing, your mind changing, and your overall sense of well-being improving. Use this as motivation to keep going.
Although it is common to eat right and exercise for vanity reasons, there is other benefits. My favorite benefit of sticking to these goals is the character that you build over time. When starting something new it is inevitable that there will be obstacles, and your mind is going play many tricks on you. You build character because you will have to overcome those obstacles and tricks. There will be many times when you’ll have friends convince you not to go, there will be many times when something will come up, there will be many times when you will just not feel like it. These are all tests, and if you face them head on and keep pushing to what you want you will inevitably build character. You will become that person people admire, the person that sets goals and achieves them, the person that goes after the sh*t they want and makes it happen.
Alright ladies and gents, excuse my language… but f*ck this article. Go out, go get sh*t done. Motivate yourself to be better, to be stronger, to be the person you really want to be. Who else is stopping you?
I’ll wait….
