Why You Cannot Find “The One”

Finding “the one” involves a willingness to *wait* for him or her to appear, and waiting is not popular these days. Its demands are too stringent in an age of narcissism, preoccupation with pleasure, and instant gratification.

Self-denial and self-control, once universally esteemed as virtues, are antithetical to the hookup mindset.

One can’t have it both ways.
