I left the pub after a big night, too drunk for 10:30pm, not so drunk that I couldn’t walk home. Someone called my name and I looked up.

It seems so significant to me
But it can only be significant to me
Because none can share the idle thoughts
That I carried for you all that time

I wrote a poem
I drafted and redrafted messages
And then I forgot you existed
And yet here you are

3 blocks away
A ghost from 7 years past
10 years since
We really talked

And we look different
And you seem cooler
And I feel just as inadequate
And twice as curious
