Friends

are friends forever

i’ve been extremely blessed by some incredible friendships, y’all. i mean incredible. do something for me, okay? close your eyes (not yet) and think of the most incredible thing of your life. (close your eyes now.) did you think of it? okay, good. now, multiply that by atleast 1.8 million and that equals the magnitude of how incredible my friends are. (it’s actually more incredible than that, but our finite minds can only understand it multiplied by 1.8 million. i know it sounds weird. just trust me.)
like i was saying, incredible friendships. i often thank the Lord for giving me such great relationships. i thank him and at the same time ask him, “why?!” like, “why, God, are you so stinkin’ awesome and love me so much to place these people in my life?” and you know what i remember: he is relational. My God, my Creator is relational. (seriously, this simple truth can be forgotten easily.) and after i remember he is relational, i realize that through 98% of my friendships (i’m on a mathematical kick tonight), i am drawn nearer to the feet of the Lord. because not only are these friends stinkin’ incredible, they love Jesus a lot; the goodness of the friendships draw me to the goodness of the Father. that’s a whole lot to celebrate.
tonight, i’m particularly thankful for tobes, who perseveres through situations (or a job ←hope i can say that) that he doesn’t like and all the while seeks to glorify the Lord through it. i’m thankful that tobes loves people, all kinds of people, and seeks to build friendships and serve them well. i’m thankful that he is quick witted and can cause laughter in even the most un-laughable situations. i’m thankful that he’s a phenomenal dreamer and encourages fellow dreamers to dream. i’m thankful that he reads blogs like they are all gonna disappear tomorrow (like a lot of blogs at a time, y’all) and he shares the best ones with his friends. and, i’m thankful, that he seeks to live a life of purpose and adventure. he’s a good one. (and to the women that want to date him after reading all of this, well, i’ll probably permit it, but you have to pass some really, really intense tests before you’re allowed. just to warn you…)
friendships, y’all. they’re most definitely something to throw a party about.
