Sick Morning

Light chasing the darkness. Dread rolling in.
Your scent is so loud, so heavy on my skin.
I’ve passed through the tunnel; my eyes open wide.
But my stomach is twisting to get back to that other side.

The nights I pass lightly. My friends keep me numbed.
The jazz has me floating and I believe you have gone.
But when I drift off s when you come to see me –
The same misgiving eyes that grope me so sickly…

Light chasing the darkness. Energies caving in.
Demons of the day come to carry out love’s sin.
Your echo is screaming, it’s too loud in my skull.
Resonating my dreaming from the hollow bone wall.

Hell, grab me some coffee. Something to pass time.
Lulled by the fact that I’ll see you tonight.
