A letter to Facebook from Satiria

UPDATED BELOW!

Dear Facebook & Facebook Press Office

I’d be very grateful if you could confirm that the following joke is acceptable within Facebook’s Community Standards.

“Throat Punch TERFs”

I ask, because the following jokes was deemed unacceptable and deserving of a 30 day ban from Facebook, even though it was not (of course) actually calling for women to be silenced, but was in fact a joke about women being silenced.

“Women Must Be Silenced”

I can see from other posts on Facebook, that joking about Throatpunching TERFs is acceptable, even tho jokes about women being silenced are not acceptable.

“Punch TERFs in the Throat”

If I do not hear from you within 24 hours, I will assume that our joke highlighting Facebook’s bizarre and misogynist moderation policies is acceptable under your community standards.

Thank you for your time.

Very kind regards

Roger Dubar — Satiria xx

UPDATE 12 July 19: Facebook did not respond to my letter, but they did silently un-ban my profile (before or after this letter, I do not know). The final joke published 24 hours from the date of this letter shown below.
