Guardian goes TERF, shocker

Roger Dubar

The Guardian has some predictably terrible coverage of the Yaniv #waxmyballs fiasco.

It quotes a tweet thread which mentions Canadian Feminist Meghan Murphy, permanentanly banned from Twitter for reporting that Yaniv is a bioligical male.

Guardian Rent-a-Minority (no really, that’s one of her actual jobs) Arwa Mahdawi writes:

“While the Yaniv case has been going on for a while now, you may not have heard much about it, as it has largely been covered by the rightwing press. The sort of outlets that normally joke about consent and women’s rights are now outraged that women are being forced to handle male genitalia against their will. The sort of writers that are normally whipping up hate against immigrants are now outraged and concerned that at least one of the beautificians that Yaniv has filed complaints against is a poor migrant.”

Is this meant to imply that Meghan Murphy is normally “whipping up hate against immigrants”? It sure reads like it’s meant to – which is an absurd slur against a longtime feminist activist.

The truth is that the mainstream media has avoided the Yaniv case before now because it makes a complete mockery of trans activism. If individuals get to judge the worth of any “trans claim”, then the “Gender Identity” house of cards falls apart. Either “trans women are women, this is not a discussion”, or, at least sometimes, trans women aren’t women, and there is a discussion.

Mahdawi blusters:

“The long and short of this story is that Yaniv does not seem to be acting in good faith and a lot of women who were running small businesses out of their homes are now being dragged into court and branded as bigots as a result.”

But who get to say whether anyone is “acting in good faith”? Yaniv lays out contemporary trans dogma clearly here:

Mahdawi risks being branded a transphobic bigot herself by offering this brave opinion:

“Yaniv argues that if you are a woman who is uncomfortable working with a penis then you are automatically a “transphobic bigot… committing a hate crime.” Not only is that untrue it makes a mockery of the hate crimes that are committed against trans people every day.”

But Yaniv’s cases are “Gender Identity” laws working as planned. Men who identify as women must be given access to women’s spaces, sports and prisons, and they must be able to impose their “personal pronouns” on everyone else.

All failures to comply are “hate crimes that are committed against trans people every day.”

Anyone who says otherwise is a TERF.
