The foolish optimism of thinking dark matter is about to be detected

I don’t know enough to have an opinion, but my hope is that dark matter does not exist. It feels kind of like Einstein adding a cosmological constant to relativity to keep the universe static. (If that sounds familiar, it’s because I lifted from your “4 Mistakes” post.)

Seems to me that dark matter would just confirm the Standard Model, that is, what we already know.

I’d like to see a new theory that would completely revolutionize our understanding, just like Relativity and Quantum Theory.
