Shalom! Shalom! I am privileged to share with you in more of God’s wisdom and divine instruction.

1Corinthians 6:16–17 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body with her? “For the two,” he says, “shall become one flesh.” But he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Our theme scripture talks about two kinds of union, a godly one and an ungodly one. In Genesis 22:24, when God said they shall be one flesh, He referred to a marriage union that He has blessed. In that case, a man is expected to cleave unto his wife! Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is opened up to see another form of cleaving, one not blessed by God, where a man cleaves unto and becomes one flesh with a prostitute. Some men may have thought that they were just having a one-off with a prostitute, yet Paul says, they have become one and hence share in each other’s spiritual heritages. King Solomon says that such a woman reduces the man to a piece of bread and I perceive that it is because she had already reduced herself or been reduced to the value and worth of a piece of bread.

Proverbs 6:26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

This to me is one of the saddest scriptures. I keep remembering how President Clinton for example was brought to a piece of bread by his secretary, Monica Lewinsky. I keep thinking of men of great dignity, great vision and great purpose being cast down from their places and being reduced to pieces of bread. All their glory and splendor vanishes in a second, only becomes they opened themselves up to a whorish woman. Sometimes, it is not even the woman that was whorish but the man opened himself up to a whorish spirit and by this he seduced the woman into something ungodly. Whatever the scenario, the man is reduced to a piece of bread. In other words, he is reduced to a man that is of no consequence.

On the other hand I keep thinking about the latter part of 2Cor 6:17 which says that he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. This is very beautiful; simply knowing that we have become one spirit with God Almighty is amazing. That person shares in the power and nature of God and this is awesome. On the other hand, just like Paul, allow me to open your eyes to something not many have seen. If any man be joined to an evil spirit, he becomes one with it. This is where trouble begins to manifest. Most people don’t ever get to realize how and when this happens. Most people don’t even know that such a thing happens. They can only tell from the results of their lives that things are not as they ought to be. They never realize that they fellowshipped and consequently joined themselves to another spirit.

Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit writes in his second epistle to the church at Corinth;

2Cor 6:14…….for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

What fellowship do you have with suicidal thoughts? What fellowship do you have with poverty and lack? What fellowship do you have with fear? What fellowship do you have with disease? What fellowship do you have with failure? What fellowship do you have with defeat? What fellowship do you have with miscarriages? Asking these questions the way I have may not be enough to bring out the full picture of what is on my spirit. Let me ask it another way.

What are you doing fellowshipping with sorrow? What are you doing fellowshipping with fear? What are you doing fellowshipping with defeat? What conversation are you having with poverty? What sort of conversation are you holding with generational curses? How do you have a hearty conversation with self-pity? What manner of discussions are you holding with cancer? When did you start having conversations with loss? What communion hath light with darkness? Have you become one of them? Have you been joined into one spirit with them?

The devil whispers to an individual and tells them they will never qualify. That individual sits in a corner, thinks and meditates, ponders and imagines, weeps and dries their tears; after all of this fellowship, they awake persuaded of defeat, before you know it, they have become one spirit with failure. God meets such a man and asks him where you are Adam? This is not to mean that God omniscient was seeking for directions from Adam; He only sought to reveal to Adam that he had joined his spirit to another spirit other than God. Every time a person ponders and meditates on all the evil surrounding them, they have opened up fellowship with darkness; they have commenced a conversation with evil and soon or later, darkness will persuade them out of faith.

It begins like a dating experience where darkness starts by declaring interest in your heart. If you aren’t alert in the spirit, you start by listening to what darkness has to say. Once darkness realizes that he has your attention, he persuades you with more cunning words of how things are bad and may never get better; how your finances may never get better and how you may never get married. Darkness persuades you with facts and figures, with testimonies that are not far from you. Darkness persuades you with examples from your own family of people that seemed like they would make it but in one instance everything of theirs came tumbling down. Darkness persuades you with statistics and studies carried out by notable institutions such as the World Health Organization which concluded that people of your blood group are susceptible to certain diseases. Darkness persuades you with the local and international news which has declared the events happening in your nation as being typical of a third world country. In fact darkness persuades you that you live in a developing country and that some categories of nations are already developed. Before you know it, you begin to feel like you are light years behind some people in certain parts of the world; consequently, you begin to feel disadvantaged. All of that is just a dating experience. The whorish woman of Proverbs 6:26 is persuading you into her territory. With her much fair speech, she causes you to yield and with the flattering of her lips she mounts pressure on you to believe her (Proverbs 7:21).

After a great while of pondering, you begin to be persuaded of her speech; you begin to believe that life will never get better, that the right man will never come your way; that cancer will never leave your body; that your wayward son will never return to you. Before you know it, the dear child of God has been persuaded and they believe the whorish spirit. After being persuaded, the scripture teaches that He goeth after her straightway.

Proverbs 7:22–23 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

After he has had fellowship and intimacy with the evil spirit, then what started as a suggestive thought has become a belief and has changed their confession. They speak it believing it wholeheartedly that things are bad and that things will never get better. The scripture above says, a dart has been struck through his liver, the ox has been slaughtered and his own life has been taken. The man has had union with an evil spirit and his life in God has been suffocated. Consequently, all their negative beliefs and confessions begin to manifest like a prophecy and their life begins to go down the drain. That is why King Solomon implores us not to give heed to the persuasions of evil spirits.

Proverbs 7:24–27 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she has cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

When you find yourself in a state of worry, anxiety, fear, depression and the like, it simply means you are joining yourself to an evil spirit and this spirit intends to snatch your life from you. Therefore, have no fellowship with worry, do not meditate upon anxiety, don’t hold conversations with fear, do not give heed to depression, have no interactions with generational curses. Finally and once again, the Lord asks, 2Cor 6:14…….for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

My Father, I thank you for your divine revelation. I decree that my thoughts are delivered from whorish thinking. I have the mind of Christ and I think heavenly thoughts. I do not fellowship with evil spirits through anxious thoughts. I fellowship with the Holy Spirit and I am joined to Him and to Him alone. My life goes upward and forward only in Jesus’ name. Amen
