Training especially for hypertrophy
It is not that hard to see physical differences when training with weights. Because when someone trains with extra load the body will adapt to it, easy as it is… This is one of the biological principals why strength training works to grow muscles. To keep ‘growing’ it may be also important to increase the weight overtime (progressive overload). There are tons of ways to implement those principles in trainings schedules. And yes, perhaps every ‘way’ will show you physical differences.
But when it comes to growing muscles (hypertrophy) and you want to get the most out of each period/training then it really matters how you implement those biological principles to your training schedule.
‘Trainen voor Spiergroei’ (training specifically for muscle growth) is a complete training schedule that works best when it comes to hypertrophy. - It decreases the chance to get injured because you are just going to failure once each of the 9 trainings. Yes, this is certainly needed when training for hypertrophy. Going to failure each training does more to strength instead of hypertrophy.
- Beginner to expert: everybody could optimally gain muscle out of it because of differences in levels.
- Are you willing to lose weight? The ‘Trainenn voor Spiergroei’ program could support this. Why? Muscles are like the calorie eating machines of your body. The bigger the muscle the more calories you burn during the day.

How does the program look like?
- Full body workouts, approximately 1 hour each
- Training at least 3 days a week, with 1 day of rest between each training session
- 6 to 8 weeks of training
- 2 weeks of rest
- Starting over this cycle
