This is just a quick post to share the news that I am taking on the new role of head of Product at the NDS.
NDS is a new team within NHS Scotland making valuable tools and infrastructure for clinicians, care workers and citizens, and making them differently.
I’m so excited to have joined the team and look forward to sharing more news in time about what we’re working on and why it matters. Having spent the last several years making values-led products, I don’t think there is any more important values-led organisation than the NHS and so the opportunity to play a part in NDS’s progressive approach to healthcare technology was one I just had to take.
During the recruitment process, there was a central question that I came back to again and again: what would it be like if every interaction the people of Scotland had with NHS technology made them feel cared for? This idea of technology being an integral and kind part of a health and wellbeing experience instead of something that just has to be suffered along the way is a big one. And as we move into the practice of designing, making, delivering and learning, it will be the orientation underneath it all.
Interested in the NDS?
We will be recruiting a range of Edinburgh-based roles in the domains of development, product management, design and research in the near future. My Twitter DMS are open if you’d like to know more, or message me here.
buddhify and my ongoing role
This new position will mean that I shall be stepping back from the day to day running of buddhify but remaining as Director of the company with oversight of creative and strategic developments. Running buddhify has been so rewarding and I thank with my whole heart and being everyone who has made it all possible, from my wider team to the amazing people all around the world who use the app and bring our fresh take on mindfulness to life. NDS has a lot to live up 🙏🏾
