No matter how hard we try to stay away from cinema, it always has a direct or indirect impact on us. There are many movies, which we feel are connected to the happenings of our life. In some emotional movies, we meet the “oh, it’s me” feeling, while just one motivation movie may change one’s life!

There’s much to admire in cinema, and we all have our individual perspectives towards film industries.

And that’s the reason we can’t deny in this present world that hardly any of us do not entertain ourselves by viewing small or big screen films or at least television. It’s simply a part of life.

Unknowingly our thought process gets influenced in some way or the other by these live pictures in our day-to-day life. We try to link our regular happenings to movie scenes, and sometimes, we even find them almost the same.

For an artist, who loves every form of art, it’s very likely to get connected with these sources, and if there’s a keen learner and admirer like Dr. Ravidarshan Vyas, then you can actually expect a lot.

He is Adhyaksh of Shri Bhuvaneshwari temple) and Director of Shri Bhuvaneshwari Aushadhashram Pvt. Ltd. You can get to know more about this marvelous artist HERE.

The “Change”

This scenario and trends of compositions and cinematography keep on changing with time as technology, forms of dancing, acting, etc. advances, and a person like Dr. Ravi, who has been childhood passion of studying the choreography and cinematography of movies, may certainly have seen a wide range of this “change.”

He had lived his young life when there were fewer gadgets around. That time, movies used to be a greater source of entertainment than what it is today. Dr. Ravi was no exception.

The “taste”

Rather than having a definite preference for movies, he loves a wide range of them. Starting from his childhood, he loved watching classic films of legendary composers like V Shantaram, Raj Kapoor, B R Chopra, and many more. Ismail Merchant was one of his favorites.

Starting from there, he never misses the opportunities to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali composed masterpieces highlighting different cultures, as this is where his core interest lies.

The list of Indian films is truly enormous, but that doesn’t mean he was tangled in Indian cinemas all the time. He loved watching films like Out of Africa, Ben Hur, The Black Prince, Victoria and Abdul, The Last Emperor, Sound of Music, and he has even absorbed and implemented much in his paintings from these movies!

Dr. Vyas and his strong power of visualizing

There’s a great difference between a movie and a painting. The painting stands still, so it is very difficult to dramatize a scene on a plain white canvas. Most importantly, the painting isn’t supposed to stay behind in terms of “feel.”

Obviously, a moving scene gives a stronger feel, but if any artist succeeds in bringing the same feel through just a painting, then he truly deserves appreciation.

Till we’ve cherished Dr. Vyas, we feel that he has a strong power of visualizing and a sharp daydreaming skill. Otherwise, the way he makes the characters go live in his paintings is simply impossible.

When we asked the secret, he said — “Intuitions play an important role sometimes while he practices spirituality.”

Well, we know it needs much more than that, but explaining everything in words is not possible every single time.

When he started composing the series — “Journey of life on canvas” in 2015, all these old memories of his “film-lover” part of his life started emerging one after the other from his memory lane.

He never imagined that his treasure of old memories would play such an impactful role when he is standing in front of a blank white canvas and help to turn the plain canvas into masterpieces, which are appreciated worldwide today!

A small example from his memory lane: the trip to Mysore

The concept of cherishing the visuals of movies and transporting the same feel on canvas still seems tough to understand for many. So, we requested Dr. Vyas to share an example with us.

He exclaimed that A film named “Mehbooba” featuring legendary Actress Hema Malini and Rajesh Khanna touched his heart and made him feel a few crucial scenes of this film even after a few days passed after watching it.

He was in deep love with classical music. Hence the song picturized in the magnificent Amba Vilas Palace laid a great impact on him. The Internet didn’t exist during his childhood, and there were no other sources either, so he waited for that song to come on television.

Whenever it was there, he used to watch it, listen to it, and enjoy it with the same excitement that he heard when he watched this song for the very first time.

He developed a very strong desire to visit that beautiful palace someday, and after several years, 1998, it finally happened. He lived the dream of visiting this palace in real life. He shares that it was such a heart-touching moment for him when he visited the same spot of the beautiful city of Mysore. After that, he had a few more visits to Mysore, and he calls himself fortunate for the same.

And the outcome was…

It wasn’t possible to keep this “strong feeling” embraced within himself. After all, he is an artist, and expressing things is his ultimate right!

When you cherish his grand 9 x 6 ft masterpiece describing Goddess Bhuvaneshwari dwelling in her abode Manidwipa, you can see this particular spot of Amba Vilas Palace. The final result was truly astounding!
