This is the problem with a slavish adherence to any system. In Silicon Valley, it’s the difference between “doing agile” and “being agile.”

We have to recognize that the context is decisive in all these things — and whatever base you start from, and capitalism isn’t a bad starting point, you have to be flexible enough to adjust accordingly. Just as we have evolved physiologically, we need to keep evolving socio-politically.

So take the downsides, and figure out how we account for them — rather than “capitalism by the book or bust”
