To raise your growing children can be a mess sometimes. As they are picky eaters, it’s difficult to feed them the right nutrients. And then on spite of all the care they end up getting sick. Stomach pain is one of the most common complaints in growing children. Due to poor eating habits like not chewing food properly or eating junk food, kids do suffer from indigestion but sometimes the problem may get severe. Here are some common stomach ailments children suffer from, which need immediate attention of a child specialist.
ULCERS
Though staying hungry for longer intervals can cause ulcers in the stomach wall, in many cases it is caused due bacterial infection. It occurs due to the disturbed pH imbalance in the stomach. Symptoms include burning pain after eating and frequent vomiting. It is necessary to see your doctor as soon as possible to reduce the symptoms. In worse cases, you might require visiting a 24 hrs open hospital, even if it is at the middle of the night.
INFECTION
Infections are caused by ingestion of worm eggs and other pathogens with food. These pathogens multiply in abdomen and cause symptoms like tiredness, blood and mucus in stool along with abdominal pain. These infections require immediate attention or it may become unmanageable. Anti-helminthic drugs are prescribed by medical practitioners. However, if infection increases, surgical removal is required.
