Boston Days 0-2

Launch Academy + KrashPad

So I moved to Boston to Join launch academy on Febuary 14th, 2014. Here is a summary of the last three days.

Day 0

This is the first day of my life
I swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain suddenly everything changed — Bright Eyes “First day of my life”

Today, I flew to Boston. The snowstorm caused my plane to be delayed by almost 1 hour. The sunset I watched on the plane, was absolutely breath taking (as shown by the header image). I was blown away how snow was literally everywhere. I took a taxi ride to my Krash house in Porter square, where I was greeted by Collin. The house was just absolutely beautiful. Four stories, with a kitchen on each floor. My room is on the first floor, where there is a living room. On floor 2 there is a huge table for cowering, and on floor 3 there is a ping pong table and another living area. I had wine with my roomies and then turned in early. It was a long day!

Day 1

I let you into my diary to admire me
The make up of this man, I let you see the higher me — Pusha T “Alone in Vegas”
View from my window

I woke up, and immediately looked out the window. This was my view. I think to most people this would have been just another day, but to me this view was just absolutely beautiful. Couple of months ago i started looking for beauty in the simple things and I realized its much easier to do this when the environment is brand new. I unpacked lot of my stuff, then went over to the other house to meet a fellow launcher, Chris. Chris and I found out we liked the same type of music (nightslugs, fade 2 mind, DMZ, hyper dub, TEKLIFE, etc..). Finding someone who likes this type of music is a very rare occasion in the US. Normally people who enjoy it are from the UK or Europe. After geekin out, we headed t’words launch academy for install night. At install night, we made sure our machines are ready for the dev environment for the coming weeks. After install night, The launchers who were also krash residents went the family dinner. This was one of the coolest experiences ive ever had! All the new people introduced themselves and explained what they were doing in Krash/Boston.

Day 2

My mind is Yoda I’m on Ayatollah — Mac Miller “Diablo”

Today is the first full day of Launch Academy. We spent time getting to know the teaching style here, and getting to know terminal. I am already fairly profcient with terminal because of past use, so it was a pretty easy day. Got a killer a deal on dumplings for lunch! 4 dollars for 10 dumplings. Cant wait to get started on the meat and potatoes of ruby.
