Bleak Future is a campaign to promote sustainable where in each video shorts world is visualized in such a way that what would happen if we don’t follow any practices to promote sustainable development and continued making mess on this planet recklessly for just money and bringing the doomsday closer.

The following activity was a part of Sustainable Studies course conducted by National Institute of Fashion Technology. Course included the content the whys and hows of our doomsday and talked about Anthropocene where human drastically impact the earth;s climate and environment. This was taken as the inspiration for creating the motions for the campaign.

Talking about inspiration, Steve Cutts was chosen as the inspiration for getting the inspiration of visualizing a bleak world.

Story boarding for three shorts.

In first short, a man wearing an astronaut suit shown as if he is in space but as camera zooms outhe is found lying on his bed inside his apartment. Wearing spacesuit symbolized that the world is devoid of oxygen in future. Next comprises of polluted city.

In second short, an advertisement is shown for selling water for bath as world has polluted freshwater which is far from restoring. As camera zooms out, other similar advertisments are shown selling fresh air and water bath which was supposed to be free but now only affordable to the priviledged ones.

In third short, a museum is shown where people are capturing the views of human lifestyle of 20th and 21st century that how people lived without spacesuits going outside, having pets and animals around and surrounded by lushness of trees and plants. A specimen of dead plant was also kept to show how plants were used to be now.
