It is good to be optimistic but one should not completely overlook the problems. It seems like you have highlighted only the positives of social networking and technology evolution and it certainly has positives, otherwise it would have not come in to existence. However, today’s Parents are not worried about their children using social media. It is the overuse that worries them. It is the addiction that worries them and that this definitely not a good sign.
