Very well put! I have thought quite a bit about the questions you pose. A huge part of the answer is this: Most public schools are the way they are mostly because of government involvement. They have to make people learn by a rote method to meet requirements so they can keep getting funding. That’s the short, simple answer. In the US, the Department of Education began in part because of a need for factory workers. They needed to train people who would come in at a bell, eat lunch at a bell, sit quietly and do what they were told. That’s why I am such a huge fan of secular private schools, autodidacts, and the practice of unschooling. Keep on thinking and learning and growing. These years will be over soon and then you’ll be free to go back to learning!
