The procrastinator. A daily (ex) friend.

When I was little, I was dreaming of planes. I felt like it was the safest place on earth and I wanted to be a pilot but that never happened.
Now thing have change, (no, I still love planes) but life have taken me to somewhere else. I built my own company two years ago with very good friends and did a lot of mistakes (but that’s for another post).
Today, I wanted to talk about procrastination. Yes, procrastination.
You know that thing that you always leave for tomorrow, that will always be better another day. Procrastination is basically normal. We never have the time to do things we really want to do. Or maybe we’re a bit lazy.
I’m 25 and I always wanted to achieve more, improve my daily life and improve the way I live, take it to the next level. Don’t you ?
Get shit done.
I started to get interested in other people who felt the same way (isn’t that the best way to avoid loosing time searching yourself ?) and I found a few books (what else) that treat the subject.
The miracle morning.
Have you ever wonder what most successful people do before breakfast ? Yes, those people that have a healthier, wealthier and obviously busier life than yours ?
When do they find time to do all the things they have to do ? What could they possibly achieve more ?
At lunch ? after work ? Na.
They use every morning to wake up a bit earlier than the rest of the world.
My journey started fifteen days ago, and yes, I know it’s a short time but I wanted to share my experience after trying it. To be honest it was quite hard at the beginning and I was struggling to wake up at 5.30 AM. But it was worth it.
Meditation.
What do I do first ? Meditate.
Yes, I was very skeptical about this but the true is that it really helped my mind and my body to relax and it only cost me 10 mins a day ! Meditation is basically some brain fitness. I must say that the Headspace app (both on ios and android) helped me a lot to learn and understand how it works, thanks guys. I’m not the kind of guy that is very stressed but still, you can feel the benefit in one session.
Running.
Then, I go for a run of an average 4 km around the “canal saint martin” in Paris (find me there around 6) which increase my blood pressure and makes me feel incredibly well. (as Hal Elrod says in his book, “you must earn your shower”)
Writing.
I never found the time to wrote anything, but i’m sure that you secretly want to write about things that thrills you. This is the time. I’m currently writing this medium post !
Reading.
You often buy books, you love reading, but you can’t read because you don’t really have time ? You love cbinsights (that crazy Anand Sanwal) and founder weekly newsletter ? You have a premium account on amazon and the book stack is only getting larger ?
Now is the time. By reading a few pages a day, you can read between 20 and 30 books a year. Yep.
On the paper this looks amazing.
Actually, it is.
In hal’s book, he says that to turn this into a habit, you must at least try it for 30 days. So I’m at half of it and honestly I’m looking forward for next morning and I enjoy my life more than ever.
If you feel the same way or just want to run on mornings, share your feelings here.
I would love to see you around.
