Sham Webinars are Silly
A few days ago, I clicked Sam Ovens’ Facebook ad on how to earn seven-figure income from my own consulting business. The link opened a landing page where I signed up for a webinar. It gave me a choice of several times and dates. I chose one and completed the signup process. A few minutes later, I received a confirmation of the event by email. I clicked a link in the email to add the event to my Google Calendar. A couple of days later, at the appointed time, I fired up the browser and followed the link to the webinar. A prerecorded video started playing. The chat app in the right margin was a sham.
Why the pretense? If you’re not going to hold a live webinar where users can interact with the speaker, please just embed the video on Facebook.
