I do understand the bad feelings in the community about our disagreement with the IOTA Foundation and the perceived loss of value. I want to repeat again the main points Vitaly has already posted in our announcement and clarify a few points.
Our engagement in IOTA started out of personal interest. It was privately funded and completely free for the community since the beginning. We are grateful for the past donations, big and small, which partially supported our work on these tools.
Fact is, it is still not financed by any party. We did not take a dime from the ecosystem fund (although we did apply for it unsuccessfully) and we are willing to continue our development in the IOTA community.
Besides IOTA, our company was actively engaged in DLT research for the past two years. Products like Nelson and Nikita are a good examples. You will not find a line of code or any IP belonging to the IOTA Foundation. I see it being repeated again and again like mantra by the IF Board and other parties, which does not make it true. When everything is revealed in the upcoming months, everyone will understand why. Please refrain from this statements as they will seem embarrassing in hindsight.
Our dream was to combine our efforts with the IOTA Foundation in a way that would also allow our continued work 100% full-time on fair financial terms. Even if it did not work out, yet, it does not mean that there wouldn’t be a way of cooperation in the future.
Meanwhile, we still continue our work on DLT solutions. As Vitaly said, we are being approached by business entities trying to solve things that IOTA at its current state cannot handle. This is not a secret and we mentioned it often enough on Twitter, Medium, even at calls with the Foundation back in May. This is purely our business and how we currently make a living at our company.
I do understand bad feelings and that people are emotional beings. However, same people must understand that we are a commercial entity. We have bills to pay and as much as we want to be all-in on IOTA, we also need to work and apply our capabilities to make a living. It is like accusing someone of going to work, apart of his engagement in a public service for greater good.
Regarding ICO for Phybr. There is none planned. It is a set of tools/solutions that will be used in specific industries and financed by its interested parties. Of course, there will be tokens for value and rights transers, which the parties will manage. Call it “Semkoins” or whatever. The current financial plan for Phybr without any public ICOs is solid.
A final word. For along time I wanted to write a blog post about modern ideologies, comparing the religious and political ideologies to the new “financial ideologies” mainly driven by the democratisation of the financial system through different crypto-projects. There are so many parallels, including a bling rage against any other belief system, ranging from shitstorms and defamation up to threats of violence. I hope we never see a real war based on these new segregations.
