SAVING BIG BUCKS DAILY
A MUST DO LIST FOR EVERY PERSON LOOKING TO SAVE
SAVE ON GAS : If you are like me and carpooling isn’t an option because you have kids to drop off & pick up, then, get the app called GETUPSIDE and start making money every time you spend money on gas!
Yes, this simple & user-friendly app gives you cash back on gas spending. Once you download it and you use the code XT37R, you’ll get a cash rebate on every gas charge you make.
Make sure your first charge using the app is for a full tank because using the code XT37R, GETUPSIDE will give $0.15 back extra per gallon.
I’ve already made like >$10.00 which can be exchanged for gift cards, deposited into your Paypal account, or you can even choose to get a check mailed out to you.

REDEEM POINTS: Talking about rebates, I’m not encouraging anyone to go and get a credit card, but most of us already own one, or a few.
So, if you are going to use them anyway, make sure at the end of every month you are redeeming your points!!!!!
Yes, redeem the points so that 1) you get that money credited to your account balance (reducing the owed balance), or get a check for that free money that just flourished out of your spending and save it into some online saving account.
CANCEL/WAIVE FEES: Cancel any unused memberships to gyms you don’t attend, classes you never go, or even those magazines that keep piling up and you never read.
Also, review the channels you watch & make sure you cancel those you are no longer watching.
And when signing any new telephone/cell phone/cable/car/lease contract: always ask for ‘SET UP FEE’s’ or “installation fees” to be waived.
AL-WAYS.
You don’t lose anything by asking. You are already wondering: would they wave that? And? Have you lost anything? The answer is: No. You see?
RE-PURPOSING LEFTOVERS: Let’s say Monday for lunch you cooked ‘ground beef with rice & sweet plantains’ today. You have some ground beef leftovers.
So, Tuesday night: get some ready to bake lasagna pasta, buy 1 Ricotta cheese for $1.39 and make a lasagna for dinner. Or make some mashed potatoes & you do a layer of that, a layer of the groundbeef, another layer of mashed potatoes & some parmesan cheese & done! You’ll have what we, latins, call “pastel/tambor de papa” — A new homemade meal. Or mix the ground beef w/some pasta & tomato sauce & you’ll have some “Bolognese pasta”.

Any other ideas? Please write it on the messages below so that we can all learn
401k PLAN: OMG. How to start talking about this? Well, let just say for beginners that if you don’t do anything else listed on this article, at least do this: Max out your employer contribution to the 401k plan.
Ask your HR dept how much is the company match. Let’s say the company matches 3% of your $30k salary. That means that if you elect to contribute money to the plan, ($900 divided on biweekly/monthly checks you receive) the company will put maximum $900 annually when you contribute the same amount. Pay attention, I say ‘when you contribute’. This means, if you don’t opt for contributing anything to the plan, your employer WILL NOT contribute anything!
But since you are a well-behaved human being, you will elect to contribute the max the company is offering (3%, 3.5%, 4%) whichever that percentage is.
So at the end of the year if you are at $30k and elected to participate on your company’s 3% plan with your contributions, then you’ll have $900 that the employer put away for you + your $900 sitting in a 401k plan = $1,800
That’s like giving yourself a nice pay increase or a bonus using $900 from your employer’s money! Do you understand? You can not say ‘no’ to that.
