Coronavirus Safe Mask | Face Mask Controversy

Right now there is a bit of hysteria going on regarding the Coronavirus also known as (COVID-19). People from all across the world are being diagnosed with the disease, but one of the main problems right now is that there are not enough tests to administer to those who are showing symptoms. The CDC has continued to make updates regarding the use of face masks and as widely reported they have mentioned you should restrict use unless you are exhibiting symptoms.

Safe Masks Have Been Sold Out

The n95 masks have been sold out for weeks now. You’re not able to find them at online retailers or stores. Basically people have purchased face masks in bulk leaving very little for the medical professionals and those that are truly sick and need care. It’s been reported as well that surgical masks do not work as effectively as a n95 mask as well, so be careful if you have decided to wear a surgical mask instead of a n95.

Overall Health Of Those With The Virus

The overall health of people with the virus has been shown to vary considerably as well. For example, some people have shown little to no symptoms yet they tested positive for the virus, while others needed a respirator to breathe. To be fair in this assessment I must say that those needing respirators have primarily been the elderly, but that’s not to say the disease is only affecting that demographic.

Anyone Can Catch This Disease

This disease has been proven to show no discrimination towards age groups. Yes, it has been widely reported that the elderly have a higher rate of infection but it does affect everyone. There are many people “downplaying” the severity of the disease and comparing it to the flu, but the fact remains there is so much we still don’t know about this disease.

The photos of people lying in hospital beds on respirators is a bit daunting. In fact, just look at Italy to see how the entire country had to be put on lock down to stop the cases of the coronavirus from spreading.

Using a Coronavirus Safe Mask

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty here about face masks or as some people call it “safe masks”. If you are concerned that you may have the virus but are not experiencing any major symptoms, you should quarantine yourself, that’s a given, but if you want to take things a step further you can indeed get a face mask.

Keep in mind though you do not want to use a surgical mask, you should utilize a mask that meets the n95 standards which should help prevent the spread of covid-19. The coronavirus can be deadly as seen in Italy and China and even here in the United States. It’s important that you take it seriously.

Stop The Spread Of The Virus

Use common sense when dealing with your overall health. This is not just about the covid-19 (coronavirus) but in general. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, and when that’s not possible use hand sanitizer (60% alcohol). Your health and overall well-being depends on how you treat the seriousness of this disease.

Here are just some snippets of what the CDC has said about coronavirus.

Virus is spread from person to person.

  • People within 6 feet of each other are at high risk for spreading the disease.
  • Droplets left by an infected person, whether it is in the air, on a surface can led to transference of the disease. These droplets are from coughing or sneezing.

Who Are At Risk?

If you’re suffering with diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure you are at higher risk for contracting coronavirus. If you are over the age of 60 this also increases the likelihood of you getting the disease.

It’s a good idea to implement some immune boosting properties into your diet. Vitamin C, Zinc are good options to use for supplementation. Of course this should be done right now, you don’t wait until you’re feeling sick to take these supplements. By having a strong immune system it can possibly lower your overall symptoms.

Covid-19 Safe Masks I Can Buy?

There are masks you can buy that are considered “safe masks”. These masks are not available in regular stores but through online retailers only. The N95 masks can help protect you from spreading the virus to your loved ones, but one of the main concerns people have is can the virus be transmitted via the “air”.

Since the virus is relatively unknown the focus has been on transference via droplets, but we cannot 100% rule out that there is a possibility of the virus being transferred via the air, and that’s why so many people have purchased N95 masks and now the stock is extremely limited.

Basically getting your hands on a safe mask to wear in case of emergency is now considered a “luxury item” or a “rare commodity”. There are only a few companies that have them in stock. There is a company called GetSafeMasks that do have a few in stock right now, and they are offering a 50% discount while supplies last. You can look into that if you’re interested. I’ll leave a link below that you can use to purchase.

What’s Next?

That’s the big question that all of us face right now, will this get better or worse? Only time will tell but now it’s time to ensure that you’re being very cautious with where you go, and who you associate with. Avoiding large crowds is very important along with washing your hands consistently throughout the day.

Take this threat seriously and trust your instincts. It’s always best to go on the side of caution rather than thinking “I just won’t get it”. Look at the number of people who have caught it already including celebrities such as Tom Hanks. Now is the time to be very cautious, and I wish you the very best.
