Photoset: Hundreth at the Key Club, Leeds, 30/03/2017

I used to go to a lot of metal shows. In high school, I was a big fan of the local York metal band Glamour of the Kill and would generally be at any shows they played in the area. I’ve seen a quite few metal bands as a result of this; Glamour would generally have 2–3 bands opening for them of the heavier persuasion, no doubt this has probably contributed to a fair amount of hearing loss over the years!

I don’t generally go to heavier shows nowadays (with the exception of the Discordian boys’ shows) so shooting such a band like Hundredth was fun and challenging, especially in a small, low-lit (at times) venue like the Key Club. These photos may not be in the style you’d normally expect from a hardcore/metal show, but it was fun to try a different approach to the norm. I’m pretty pleased with how they’ve turned out, I hope you also like them.
