So, you know, I’d suggest your argument is with Eleanor, whom I trust in this area more than I do you. It is a quote of empowerment. You have ultimate control of your own feelings.

If you find yourself excusing people who abuse you emotionally; if even in your own inner monologue, you accept this behavior and don’t call it out as Not OK, this is an issue that requires therapy.
