How a Gunship Destroyed a Hospital in Afghanistan
War Is Boring

In an environment with ADA, the Air Force cannot fly it in daytime. In a sophisticated ADA environment, it cannot survive day or night unless supported by ECM gear. Nonetheless, heat seeking missiles like the Stinger will find it at night.

Its sensor systems are more important than its weapons and they were either down or out of calibration. If we had more AC-130s and more deployed, a replacement could have been launched. The Afghan War has never had enough aviation assets from the strongest military in the world?

Of course, the action was predicated upon bogus information from a bunch of lying Afghans who may have wanted the hospital destroyed. Let’s go home.
