Absolutist Communism? Didn’t exist. They were Socialists heading toward Communism. Their leaders were like Capitalists, having so many perks and owning private property.

If you knew about the impact of unions, the Capitalists didn’t cause companies to dwindle, the unions did. They kept demanding more and more, and the market could no longer afford them. Think not? Check General Motors, even the Twinkie bakers. Companies went overseas for more than one reason: cheaper labor, expand markets, reduce chances of wars. If you’re not sure of the last one, it is simple: a trading partner is less likely to want to go to war with you. At least, that’s how the theory goes.

You forgot to mention the present. The economy is booming, and more people are making a living. Efforts before wanted the government to “take care of you” (FDR), and that continued for many years. Yes, Bezos is the richest man in history, and paying poor wages, That just might change shortly. If he persists, people will not work for him, and there goes his fortune.

BTW: What happened to the guy who charged outrageous prices for his medical products? The courts were not kind to him.
