Thank you for your service Ben. As a cynical civilian that started working for the US Army seven years ago, I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve been surprised to meet some of the finest examples of character I could imagine in the armed services. Yes, Joe can be jokers and screw-ups, but there is a prevailing sense of good up through the ranks where the quietly strong are admired and their example followed. I never thought I’d be the guy saying I loved the Army, but many fine men and women have won my heart, and have inspired me to be a kinder, more complete person.
