We’re living in an era where it takes courage to acknowledge someone who is two feet in front of you, even if it only takes two seconds.
But here’s the thing about people in our country: for the most part we all speak the same language. “Hello” should be a friendly gesture. Not a responsibility; not an inconvenience.
One thing I notice often is that some people are apprehensive when a stranger compliments them because that isn’t a norm anymore. The cool thing about society is that it can dictate norms. I’m really happy that there are people like you, Katina, who are stepping up to say something about it.
