Burnout

Love it. Not just for startups. Any super hardworking, ambitious, mission-driven professional can identify with this I think.

One addition: Set at least one 24 hour period per week that is essentially off limits unless Rome is actually burning (like servers on fire or me and my family’s MakeSpace boxes go missing. 😉 )

Spend that time with family or friends or anyone who WON’T talk work with you and don’t be shy about it. This past summer, for the first time in my life, I let my clients and teammates know that Fridays were Summer Fridays so I could get Friday to Saturday afternoon as time with my girls. Fundamentally changed the “recharge value” of the weekend for me.

It’s impossible to recharge if you’re always “kinda on.”

Thanks for sharing sir! And keep building awesome stuff!
