That’s folly- “shame” folks into being good. It doesn’t work, it has never worked, and it never will. You cannot force people to be upstanding citizens, as the visceral backlash against PC culture and globalization has demonstrated. And if there isn’t public trust in certain institutions, the fault lies in the institutions, not with the public. There are more efficient ways, like more meaningful/better work, education & healthcare. Drugs have ravaged families and communities, and narcotic use is widespread because of poverty. So everything is holistic, symbiotic, and has to be looked at as a whole. A good place to start is simple things like feeding communities with healthy food by helping plant an urban garden, mentoring/tutoring kids without fathers, etc etc.
