For the believer, Paul reminds us of our death to the Law. That means we are not bound by the Law in the way that the people of God once were. Rather, through faith in Christ, we have died to it and now live by grace.
Although the Law is good in that it revealed the will of God, and the sinfulness of sin [how sin uses the Law to guilt/shame/stumble], the believer conquers sin by grace. This does not mean that sin is eradicated completely now, but that all the more we throw ourselves on the grace found only in Christ for salvation through repentance.
The Law leads to guilt, shame, and death…[legalism]
The Grace of Christ leads to repentance, sanctification, and life! [awesomeness]
Romans 7:24–25a 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
