Are you following a vegan diet? If yes, then is ghee suitable for you? Vegans usually avoid consuming meat, egg, fish, and any other products that are sourced from animals. But is ghee vegan? Ghee is a common type of clarified butter that is made of cow’s milk-made butter. When it comes to ghee’s vegan diet compatibility, the answer is no. There are many people who consider ghee to be a vegetarian product as it does not include any solid milk parts.

However, those who follow a strict vegan diet should not consider consume ghee as it is sourced from animal milk. Ghee is the clarified version of butter that has a golden yellow color and nutty toasted aroma. Due to the absence of ghee residues, it is safe for the consumption of dairy-sensitive people.

Those who avoid having any dairy staple in their daily diet due to dairy sensitivity can consume ghee in their diet as it is dairy-free. Besides being dairy-free, ghee is highly nutritious packed with multiple vitamins and essential healthy fats. It’s perfect for ketogenic and paleo dieters. You can find several vegan varieties of ghee available in the market but they are not as nutritious as organic cow ghee.
