What Is Rookie Road?

Why Did We Build Rookie Road?
Our founder Doug, built Rookie Road when he was a student attending the University of Michigan. He didn’t like sports in high school and when he got to college he realized how important it was to understand them. Doug attended his first Michigan football game at the Big House and was blown away by the passionate sports culture in Ann Arbor. People of all ages were unified and rooting for the same team. Everyone had a story behind why they were a Michigan fan.
It was then that Doug decided he would teach himself sports and Rookie Road was born!
“I didn’t know the first thing about Michigan football, but the fans were just incredible. I truly felt like I was a part of a community for the first time in a while.
I built Rookie Road to show people how rewarding being a sports fan can be. I was never a huge sports fan and it was hard to relate to people who were. I just didn’t understand sports and always avoided conversations about them. I taught myself by reading the rulebooks and creating my own content. It was hard work. Let me save you some time!”
