Power, Privilege, and Justice. The Life of Dominick Dunne

Dominick Dunne was born 1925 in Connecticut. Born into a life of luxury but not quite as well off as the Kennedys or other elites at the time. Dominick served in WWII receiving the Bronze Star for bravery. After graduating from Williams College he headed to Hollywood to make his mark. Starting as a producer and hanging with celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor, Natalie Wood, Marilyn Monroe, and Truman Capote alcohol and drugs took over his life.

By 1979, his life in turmoil with his demons, he headed north to Oregon. He noticed a flat tire causing him to rent cabin #5 at Twin View Resort, Camp Sherman, Oregon. Dunne decided to begin writing and as he did so, he literally changed his life.

For some time Dunne wrote many popular articles for Vanity Fair. It was his editor who suggested he write about the rich and famous since he had an inside track to them. He wrote his novel, The Two Ms. Grenvilles, published 1985. No one knew the dark side of the rich and famous like Dunne and it propelled him to fame and riches.

The public was fascinated by the sins of the rich and famous and Dunne brought them all to light.
